Every year, "Lookin' For A Cure 5K" events light up cities across the United States. These events are not just about running, they are about igniting awareness, and unity in the fight against Ocular Melanoma. By participating, you're not only support groundbreaking research but also bringing together individuals affected by Ocular Melanoma. We're Lookin' For a Cure just steps from the beautiful Pacific Ocean in Crescent Bay Park! Join A Cure in Sight and UCLA, in Santa Monica on Saturday September 28th, 7AM-11AM and walk or run with us.

A PARTNERSHIP FOR PROGRESS

We will be taking steps to find a cure for Ocular Melanoma, a rare eye cancer and we need your help to raise awareness of this cancer and make our event a success. Ocular Melanoma is estimated by the American Cancer Society see about 3000 new cases each year nationwide. Here, in Southern California, USC is hard at work to monitor and treat patients with Ocular Melanoma and provide treatment options for those who are experiencing metastatic disease. Proceeds of the event will support research in Southern California, so register today, form your own team and start fundraising for this very worthy cause. Bring your friends and family to the 5K too as all ages are welcome to walk or run the course at Crescent Bay Park, just South of the Santa Monica Pier!

PARKING

There are meters on the street, they are free until 9AM. Please dont add a ticket to the cost of your race. Make sure that after 9AM your meter is paid quarters, or credit cards. Also check the signs to make sure you are not parked on a street sweeping block. Street sweeping goes from 7 AM to 9 AM and comes with a nasty ticket. The lot at the beach, adjacent to the start/finish, is a pay lot. You can pay at the entrance booth or if no one is there, then pay the machines. The prices vary throughout the year, typically $8-12. We are not responsible for keeping up to date on any price increases that Santa Monica initiates.

PACKET PICKUP

Don't want to come early the day of the race? You can get signed in and pick up your packet on Friday, September 27th, 2024 at Road Runner Sports, Santa Monica location between 4-6 PM. Road Runner Sports is also offering a discount for our participants! Get some great gear at a great price and be ready for the 5K.
