Organiser's Description

The 7th Annual RunFit Lavender Run will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Participants can choose from a variety of events, including a 10K, a 5K run, a walk, and a Kids K, ensuring there's something for everyone! The race features a fast and flat loop course in the heart of the North Valley.

Participants will be able to win age-group and overall awards, receive participant medals, and receive a stylish Lavender Run T-shirt. Summer favorites will also be waiting for you at the finish line.

As an added bonus, all Lavender Run participants (13 and older) will receive free entry to the 19th Annual Lavender Festival, which will take place on July 25, 2026. The Lavender Festival offers a variety of activities, including live music, free yoga classes, wellness seminars, cooking demonstrations, and a marketplace with 70 artisans selling everything from lavender bouquets to paintings, pies, spices, lotions, beer, and wine. Its a perfect outing for lavender enthusiasts of all ages.

IMPORTANT: There is NO PARKING at Alvarado Elementary School. Please see the parking information below.


EVENT SCHEDULE

10K: 8:00 a.m.
5K: 8:15 a.m.
Kids K: 9:00 a.m.
Please arrive early. All races will begin promptly at their scheduled start times.

Important: All pre-registered participants should pick up their packets during Packet Pickup. If you cannot attend, a friend or family member may pick up your packet for you. Out-of-town participants may pick up their packet on race morning at the registration area at Alvarado Elementary School.


COMPLIMENTARY LAVENDER FESTIVAL ADMISSION
All Lavender Run participants ages 13 and older will receive complimentary admission to the 19th Annual Lavender Festival on Saturday, July 26, 2026.

Enjoy a full day featuring:

Live music
Free yoga classes
Kids Camp
Wellness seminars
Cooking demonstrations
More than 70 artisans featuring lavender bouquets, paintings, pies, spices, lotions, beer, wine, and much more.

START INFORMATION
The race starts in front of Alvarado Elementary School.

Please allow plenty of time to park, walk to the start, warm up, and seed yourself according to your expected pace.

The 10K and 5K use a Gun Start with Chip Finish. Your official time begins when the starting horn sounds.

All participants must wear their official timing bib/chip to receive an official finish time and be eligible for awards.

RESTROOMS
Portable restrooms will be available near the Start/Finish area. Please allow extra time before your race begins.


RACE BIB REQUIREMENTS
Your race bib:

Must be worn on the front of your outermost clothing.
Must remain visible throughout the race.
May not be folded or altered.
May not be transferred to another participant.
Unauthorized bib transfers will result in disqualification.


MEDICAL SUPPORT
Medical personnel and radio communications staff will be stationed throughout the course and at the Finish Line.

If you experience a medical problem or cannot finish the race, please notify a race official immediately so staff know your bib number and location.

Race officials reserve the right to remove any participant who appears to be in medical distress.


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
May I wear headphones?
Yes. Recreational participants may wear headphones. Participants competing for prize money may not use electronic listening devices.

May I wear a GPS watch?
Yes. GPS watches are permitted; however, official race results are based solely on RunFit timing equipment.

What is not allowed?

Cell phones while competing
Cameras or video devices
Skateboards
Rollerblades
Unauthorized bicycles
Other wheeled devices
Only authorized course marshals may use bicycles.

Are strollers allowed?
Yes. Participants using strollers must start behind all runners and ensure they do not interfere with other participants. Children must always be securely fastened.

Are dogs allowed?
Yes. Dogs are welcome but must remain on a short leash at all times.

Lost & Found
A Lost & Found will be available on race day. After the event, call (505) 217-4774 if you are missing an item.


REFUNDS, TRANSFERS & DEFERRALS
Entry fees are non-refundable and may not be transferred, sold, or deferred to a future event, including due to injury, illness, pregnancy, work obligations, or family emergencies.


INCLEMENT WEATHER
Weather conditions will be monitored before and during the event.

If necessary, participants will be notified by email and through the RunFit website regarding delays, course modifications, or cancellation.

Lightning will delay the event in 15-minute increments until conditions are safe. If extreme heat is expected, additional water and medical support will be provided.


FINISH & AWARDS
Timing chips are disposable and do not need to be returned.

Awards will begin immediately following the Kids K.

The Kid's K is open to all registered participants aged 11 or younger.

Participants should report to the start area by 8:45 a.m. The Race Director will begin calling children to the start approximately 15 minutes before the 9:00 a.m. start.

Every child will receive a special recognition award upon finishing.


POST-RACE
Stay after your race to enjoy refreshments and the awards ceremony.
