Join us for the 4th Annual Let's Get Moving Event & 5K on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Vietnam Veterans Park in Concord, Cabarrus! This exciting and inclusive event welcomes participants of all abilities, encouraging everyone to get moving and enjoy a day of fun and fitness. The festivities kick off at 8:00 a.m., with the Buddy Run starting at 9:00 a.m. and the main 5K race commencing shortly after at 9:30 a.m.
Participants can also enjoy the Decathlon Activity Adventure course, which will be open from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual 5K option is available, allowing everyone to join in the spirit of the event. Awards will be given for the top finishers in various categories, and all 5K participants will receive finisher medals, along with a bag, shirt, and giveaways. RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP OPENS AT 8:00AM
Join us from 8a.m. to noon. There will be a DJ and activities for all.
* 8:00 a.m. - event site opens
* 9:00 a.m. - Buddy Run starts
* 9:30 a.m. - 5K starts
* 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. - Decathlon Activity Adventure course open as an alternative to the run/walk events
* Virtual 5K for those who cannot attend in person but want to participate where they are
There will be 5k awards given to overall top 3 male and female and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 10 & under, 11-15, 15-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61 -70, and 71 and up. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the Decathlon. Awards will be given to the top three male and female Fun Run finishers.
5K PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE FINISHER MEDALS!
5k runners and Decathlon participants will receive a bag, shirt, and giveaway items.
Virtual Runners will not be eligible for awards.
PACKET PICK UP: Thursday, September 17th at the West Cabarrus YMCA in Afton Village from 6pm to 8pm. See Packet Pick Up section below.
PARKING: THIS IS A 'SHUTTLE TO DESTINATION' EVENT. Those with special needs can receive a parking pass at packet pickup.

OPENS 02 JUNThis adventure course is designed for people who prefer not to walk or run or who's mobility doesn't lend itself to walking and running whether due to design or injury. It is a 'points based' activity course with a guide at each activity to ensure safety, fun and success. Awards will be presented to the top 3 participants with the highest number of points. To be eligible for an award, you must register to receive the activity course scorecard. -
