Now in its ninth year, this exciting 5K obstacle course features thrilling waves for elite athletes and families alike.
Challenge yourself in the Elite Wave, designed for athletes aged 16 and up, which includes nine obstacles over a 1K loop—totaling 45 obstacles for the entire 5K! Not quite ready for the elite challenge? The Family Wave offers a fantastic introduction to ninja-style fun with seven obstacles suitable for all experience levels. Plus, there are options for everyone from ages 3 to 93, including a flat 5K run/walk and a Youth Dash.
Join us in supporting a great cause, as proceeds from the event benefit Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, aiding local communities with essential services. It's Loop The Lupe, the only obstacle course in Seattle city limits, and we're back for our ninth year! Seattle's best 5K obstacle course fun run will take place at Walt Hundley Playfield in West Seattle on Saturday, June 7th. Here's what's in store for 2025:
* _FOR TOP ATHLETES--OUR ELITE WAVE_: Hey, triathletes, Spartan Racers and Tough Mudders! The Loop is a great warmup for your race season. The first wave of Loop the 'Lupe is an "Elite Wave" for racers age 16+ to increase the level of competition. This wave features a whopping _NINE OBSTACLES ON OUR 1K "LOOP" FOR A TOTAL OF 45 OVER THE 5K RACE! NOTE: The two additional obstacles featured in the Elite Wave will be shut down 40 minutes after the start of the event. Elite racers still on the course will complete their event on the seven-obstacle Family Wave course. _
* _OUR MOST POPULAR CHOICE--__THE __FAMILY WAVE_: So, you're ready for all the ninja challenges (wall-climbing, mud-crawling, and more), but not ready to run with the elites? The 7-obstacle Family Wave is just for you, suitable for all experience levels!
* _OPTIONS FOR AGES 3 TO 93:_ We'll have the 5K run/walk (no obstacles), the Senior Saunter walk (100% flat, no obstacles), and the Youth Dash (once around our 1K loop with 7 obstacles & adult supervision).
* _TEAM DISCOUNTS!:_ You'll get discounts on groups of 4-10 when you register all at once, and even bigger discounts for groups of 11 or more!
* _SUPPORT A GOOD CAUSE: _This event is a major annual fundraiser for Our Lady of Guadalupe [https://olgseattle.org/] Church. Your registration and donations help with some important social outreach work--support for 1,700 local people in need annually with rent/mortgage assistance, food, medicine, and more; a prison re-entry program; and help for refugee/immigrant communities, too. _RACERS WHO HELP US FUNDRAISE_ can earn prizes, too!
* _VIRTUAL RACING:_ Not feeling up to a trip to the park? No problem! Register to get a race t-shirt, contact us at [email protected], and record a video of yourself on your own crazy home obstacle course, then post it to our on our Facebook page! Prizes for the top entrants!
* _POST-RACE FUN:_ The Loop's live music, food, and beer/cider garden are back. Plus, hang out for a soccer expo match at 1:30 and a sign up for a penalty kick shootout competition, happening at 2:00 p.m.!

You get to tackle two additional obstacles compared to the Family Wave for a total of nine on every lap of the 5K. LET'S GO! Our Senior Saunter is a roughly quarter mile loop for older participants (age 65+, but we won't check ID's!). You'll have 20 minutes to complete as many laps as possible. Special prizes for our participants who complete the most laps within 20 minutes! -
