Join us for a heartwarming day of solidarity and support at the third annual Love in Action Walk/Run, organized by the Carmelas Heart Foundation! On Sunday, October 25th, 2026, Vista View Park in Davie, Broward, will come alive with energy as participants gather for a morning of fun and fitness. Choose between the challenging 5K (3.1 miles) and 10K (6.2 miles) races, or enjoy the scenic 1K walk that's perfect for families. This uplifting event aims to transform miles into relief and hope for children in need, making it a truly meaningful experience.
The day's festivities kick off at 6:00 AM, with packet pickup and park access, followed by the National Anthem and race instructions leading up to the 7:30 AM start for the 5K and 10K runs. DETAILS
PARKING is to the right when you enter the park and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you are parked, the event is a short walk over a small footbridge on the North side of the park.
There will be a designated PACKET PICKUP AREA. There is no on-site registration; however, online registration will remain open until 6:55 AM. Online registration is mobile device-friendly!
THE COURSE includes a 5K (3.10-mile) route that winds around and over two hills in the park. The 10K (6.20-mile) option features a second loop of the same course.
RESULTS will be available on-site; however, you are encouraged to sign up to receive your results via text after completing your event.
AWARDS will be offered to the top male and female finishers as well as the top three in each age group. Overall awards are based upon gun time (gun to chip). All other awards (age groups) are based upon chip time (chip to chip). You must be present to receive the award.
We intend to hold a safe and enjoyable race experience for all participants. Should anything come up that might compromise our ability to fulfill that commitment (severe weather, government restrictions, etc), we will automatically transfer all in-person registrations to the virtual race.
Participants in the virtual event will have their running kit sent to the valid US address used during registration within 2 weeks of the in-person event. Please allow for transit time. We ship via the United States Postal Service.
HOW TO GET THERE
Vista View Park is in western Broward County.
From the East: Take 595 West to exit 2&3 towards Hiatus Road. Keep to the left as you exit. Continue to Flamingo Road and make a left (south). In about 1.4 miles, make a right onto Orange Drive, then make a right on SW 142nd Avenue. Vista View Park is 0.25 miles down on the left.
From the South: Take I75 North. Exit at Griffin Road and head east for about 0.5 miles. Turn left over Winkopp Bridge and then turn right on Orange Drive, then make the first left (on SW 142nd Avenue). Vista View Park is 0.25 miles down on the left.
From the North: Take I75 South and exit at Griffin Road. Head east for about 0.5 miles. Turn left over Winkopp Bridge and then turn right on Orange Drive, then make the first left. Vista View Park is 0.25 miles down on the left.
From the West: Take I75 South and exit at Griffin Road. Head east for about 0.5 miles. Turn left over Winkopp Bridge and then turn right on Orange Drive, then make the first left. Vista View Park is 0.25 miles down on the left.
Please note: The entrance to the park can get backed up. We are covering the park entrance fee to help reduce the backup, but please plan to arrive early enough to allow for some delays entering the park.

I loved participating in this race organized for Carmela’s Heart Foundation. It was such a fun event in a beautiful location, and the best part is knowing that every dollar collected goes to help children living in poverty. It feels great to enjoy a good time while supporting such a meaningful cause. Highly recommend.

Awesome race! Beautiful course with a couple of fun hills to keep it interesting. Everything was super well organized, easy check-in, clear course, great volunteers, and perfect vibes all around. I’d definitely run it again!
