Math Medic Foundation Pi Day Pi K 2025 Presented by NumWorks

Choose this option if you can't attend one of the 6 in-person locations or if you'd prefer to complete the Pi K with your own group of people or on another day.

We'll meet around 5pm at the Riverside Park Boat Launch Parking Lot. The race will begin at 5:30pm. Runners, walkers, and bicyclists are all welcome. One of our sponsors, Our Family, will provide pie for everyone after the race. Then, we'll head to Creston Brewery to celebrate!

The race will take place at Avondale High School at 10 AM on 3/15/25. The address is 2800 Waukegan Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. In-person locations will earn a portion of all MMF Pi Day Pi K proceeds. Avondale High School Impact Statement: The Avondale High School math department is excited to host this event to fund a scholarship for two graduating seniors who have contributed positively to the math learning community. Contributions can be in the area of knowledge, collaboration, peer encouragement, and sharing a spirit of empowering others to be their best. The scholarships will be open to all students in all levels of math classes. We are excited to recognize and support two students who are going on to some form of post-secondary learning, including, community college, university, trade school, apprenticeship. Our hope is to make this a recurring, annual event, to grow this scholarship program.

The race will take place at Crete-Monee High School at 2 PM on 3/13/25. The address is 1515 W. Exchange Street Crete, IL 60417. In-person locations will earn a portion of all MMF Pi Day Pi K proceeds. Crete-Monee High School Impact Statement: Hosting a Pi-Day Pi-K at Crete-Monee High School is going to have an incredible impact for our students and community. We are a diverse campus in the South Suburbs of Chicago in need of financial support. With nearly 100% of our students receiving free and reduced lunch, the funds raised from this event will ensure opportunities for our students. The money we raise will support initiatives that allow students to participate in educational field trips and extracurricular activities, which will expand their understanding of how mathematics shapes the world. Additionally, the proceeds will help establish a local scholarship for deserving seniors, many of whom will be the first in their families to attend college. This event promises to be an uplifting experience for our entire school community. By collaborating on a fun and positive initiative centered around mathematics, we aim to foster a sense of unity and excitement. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of our students and nurture a lifelong appreciation for learning.

The race will take place at Murray High School at 4:30 PM on 3/14/25. The address is 1800 Sycamore Street, Murray, KY 42071 (Park/meet at the Doran Road Entrance). In-person locations will earn a portion of all MMF Pi Day Pi K proceeds. Murray High School Impact Statement: Thank you for making the Pi Day Race a success! Your generosity directly impacts our students, enhancing their educational and extracurricular experiences. Proceeds from this event will support student activities at Murray High School. Specifically, a portion of the funds will benefit the MHS Cross Country Team, helping cover travel expenses and uniforms for their upcoming Fall season. Another portion will support the MHS Math Club, funding essential student supplies and competition entrance fees, allowing our students to thrive academically and pursue their passion for mathematics. Murray High School is deeply grateful for your continued support. Together, we are investing in the success and growth of our students!

The race will take place at Bainbridge High School at 3:14 PM on 3/8/25. The address is 1 Bearcat Blvd, Bainbridge, GA 39819. In-person locations will earn a portion of all MMF Pi Day Pi K proceeds. Bainbridge High School Impact Statement: The impact of hosting a Pi-day Pi-K will be substantial for the students at Bainbridge High School and our region. As a small, rural community in Southwest Georgia, showcasing the beautiful campus and BHS facilities is truly an honor. Financial resources are minimal for a school where 100% of the student population is on free or reduced lunch. The funds raised from this event will ensure opportunities for our students to participate in field trips and extra curricular activities which will broaden their understanding of mathematics in the world around them. The funds will also provide a scholarship for deserving seniors who will be first-generation college students.

The race will take place at Summit Collegiate High School at 8 AM on 3/8/25. The address is 15550 N Redwood Rd, Porterville, CA 93257. The starting location is off of W Thurman Ave near the side entrance to the soccer field. In-person locations will earn a portion of all MMF Pi Day Pi K proceeds. Summit Collegiate High School Impact Statement: By participating in Summit Collegiate High Schools Pi K Run on March 8th, 2024, you will be supporting a scholarship fund to support low-income students who plan on attending a four-year college majoring in a STEM related field. We are looking to be able to sponsor 1 to 5 students with scholarships depending on the amount raised. Our event is open to the community, locally and nationally. Help us create a tradition that celebrates mathematics and encourages students to pursue options in mathematics-related fields!
