Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the Medvejie Solstice Run taking place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in the stunning surroundings of Sitka! This exciting event kicks off at 9 AM and promises a day filled with athletic spirit and community camaraderie as it marks the 18th year of this beloved fundraiser for the SHS XC and Track program. Participants can choose from three exhilarating race distances: a challenging 1/2 marathon, a spirited 10K, or a fun-filled 5K. All races start and finish at Herring Cove, adjacent to the Beaver Lake Trailhead, and wind their way toward the picturesque Medvejie Hatchery.
The course features some hilly terrain, so be sure to train accordingly and prepare for an invigorating run! In-person registration will be available on race day until 8:30 AM, with registration fees set at $30 for the 5K, $35 for the 10K, and $45 for the 1/2 marathon. The first 75 entrants will receive a non-cotton T-shirt, and SHS students can run for free, with the option to purchase a T-shirt separately. Volunteers are welcomed and

The Medvejie Solstice Run is scheduled for June 21, 2025 at 9 AM. Mark your calendars and ratchet up those miles!
Please join us for the 18th running of this SHS XC and Track program fundraiser. The 3 distance events will begin and end at Herring Cove, adjacent to the Beaver Lake Trailhead parking lot at the end of Sawmill Creek Road. All races will head out toward Medvejie Hatchery and back. The 1/2 marathon turn-around is at the Green Lake Power House, 10K near the Medvejie Hatchery, and the 5K at about half-way out to the hatchery. This is a hilly course, please train accordingly.
