Organiser's Description
The goal of the Mending Minds Walk is to support our efforts of providing regular executive functioning, psychoeducational, and therapeutic services at the St. Phillips School and Community Center and The Kings Academy.
We are honored to provide regular executive functioning services at St. Philips School and Community Center. The curriculum includes work on self-regulation, working memory, flexible thinking, planning and organization, study skills, and goal setting. In each session, our clinicians introduce a new topic through psychoeducation, individual activities, and group games. With these services, our goal is to foster students growth both in and out of the classroom. The students are encouraged to continue working on building their skills in the classroom and at home as well.
Additionally, The Housson Center has the privilege to provide therapeutic services at The Kings Academy located in South Dallas. Each week, our clinicians spend a day providing individual therapy and group therapy to students through play-based techniques and activities. During these sessions, our clinicians focus on building relationships, processing the students world, and providing psychoeducation on coping skills to foster each childs social and emotional development.
