This 5K is a celebration of Marky Mendick's fifth birthday. Marky is an adorable young man who was born with severe complications. Proceeds from this event will go towards helping the family with medical and travel expenses for his therapy and well-being. Come help us throw this boy a "high-five" themed birthday party! Marky is a smiley little boy whose light shines for Jesus. He beat all odds after a healthy, 41 week pregnancy resulted in an emergency c-section due to a prolapsed cord. By God's miracle and healing hand, Marky survived a hypoxic event and his heart started beating again. Unfortunately, this left brain damage behind.
Through this unexpected journey we have found our family's renewed passion to share God's love and healing power through Marky's story of hope. We give all glory and honor to Him and praise Him in our storm.
Marky has overcome many challenges already through various therapies, hospital stays and surgeries, facing each new trial with grit. Marky is finally showing signs of willingness to participate in daily activities, something that until now had been too overwhelming. It is time to seek and pursue. It is time to aggressively help Marky fight. The Lord is leading us to therapies that will help heal Marky's brain and free him from his unable body.
We ask that you join us as we lift our son up in prayer and ask for complete healing. While prayer remains our main request, Marky's ongoing medical needs are a tremendous financial burden. If you feel led to lift Marky up financially, all proceeds will be used for his healing journey.
