Get ready for an inspiring and fun-filled weekend at the annual Military Matters VeteRUN 5K Run/Walk, taking place on August 15-16, 2026, in beautiful Kansas City, Jackson! This exciting event invites everyone to lace up their shoes and join in supporting our local veterans. The 5K run/walk kicks off at 8:00 AM on Saturday, with race day registration opening at 7:00 AM. Participants can also look forward to a delightful Kids Fun Run following the main event at 8:45 AM.
Not only will you enjoy a scenic racecourse, but you'll also be contributing to a great cause, as all proceeds benefit Military Matters, which provides essential legal services to military service members and veterans. With family-friendly activities, awards for top finishers in various categories, and the camaraderie of fellow supporters, this event promises to be a highlight of the summer! WELCOME TO THE ANNUAL MILITARY MATTERS VETERUN 5K!
ANYONE CAN RUN/WALK IN SUPPORT OF MILITARY MATTERS! We will be hosting multiple organizations who support our local veterans, and will have fun family activities available for all who attend.
PROCEEDS FROM THE 5K WILL GO TO MILITARY MATTERS, A PROGRAM THAT FILLS THE GAP IN LEGAL SERVICES TO MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS AND VETERANS. TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM VISIT MILITARYMATTERSKC.ORG.
RACECOURSE: Please take caution if you plan to run/walk with a stroller or wheelchair as the route is typical sidewalk-width.
T-SHIRTS & SWAG:
PLEASE NOTE: We hope to be able to provide each participant with a t-shirt, however please be understanding if we run out.
