THE REASON:_ This isn't just another 5k benefit for charity. This race is creating a trail where one didnt exist._ When you run this race, you become part of a community that believes everyone deserves the opportunity to race and to feel like they have purpose and dignity.
THE ORDER OF EVENTS: The 1k will start first. We will celebrate the hard work and bravery of the families and those affected by disability for signing up, showing up, and completing the race to the best of their ability. The 5k will begin shortly after the conclusion of the 1k.
THE ORG: Mitchells Mountain [https://www.mitchellsmountain.com] serves and supports families affected by autism and other Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. We achieve this through essential respite care, an upcoming long-term residential community designed for those with severe autism, and local family events like this race.

The 5K will follow the completion of the 1k Dash for Hope where we will briefly honor and cheer for the families and individuals that completed the race. The 5k will start near Outfield Trailhead, go out Judge Cummings Road to West Judge Cummings Road, connect to Saddle Up at Soccer Trailhead, to Escalator, to Last Call, down Fayetteville Traverse, and end on Judge Cummings Road -
1k Dash for Hope
Incl. $1.90 Fee & Race T-Shirt

The 1k Dash for Hope takes place on an adaptive trail and will allow autism families and families with other I/DD to participate together while still offering an outdoor trail experience with some slight incline and is a walk/jog/run/shuffle event. All speeds are welcome! The dash will start at Outfield Trailhead, go out Judge Cummings Road and come back the same trail (out and back).
