Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the 4th Annual Monet Richardson Community Foundation 5K Run & Walk: "Running With The Angels," happening on Saturday, March 22, 2025, in beautiful Chapel Hill, Orange. This uplifting event invites participants of all ages to come together at East Chapel Hill High School for a morning filled with community spirit and purpose. The race kicks off at 9 AM, following early check-in starting at 8 AM, and features a USATF-certified 5K course. Whether you choose to run or walk, your participation will help support local youth through scholarships and essential resources like backpacks.
In addition to the race, attendees can look forward to exciting activities such as pre- and post-race workouts led by Orange Theory Fitness, as well as a chance to win fantastic raffle prizes, including hotel stays and restaurant gift cards. Don’t miss the opportunity to join in the fun of a silent auction filled with amazing items from local vendors, which opens for bids online on March 15, 2025. Everyone is encouraged to wear angel wings to show their support for this significant cause. This event brings together community supporters, families, and volunteers to make a positive impact on local youth. Together, we raise awareness and support for our mission of providing backpacks and academic scholarships.
Founded in honor of Kristian Monet Richardson, who tragically passed on May 16, 2021, MRCF is dedicated to continuing her legacy of philanthropy and making a difference in the lives of families, one youth at a time.
OPTIONAL: WEAR ANGEL WINGS FOR OUR RUNNING WITH THE ANGELS INSPIRATION.
SCHEDULE:
JOIN US ON SATURDAY, MARCH 22, 2025! Early check-in starts at 8 AM, with the race beginning at 9 AM. Please arrive early to meet our sponsors and learn about their services. Dont miss out on raffle prizes featuring hotel stays, restaurant gift cards, jewelry, and moretickets are just $20 each (cash or credit only). You must be present to win!
REGISTRATION:
Online pre-registration ends on March 21 at midnight. Onsite registration opens at 8 AM at East Chapel Hill High School: $35 for adults and $20 for students (18 and under). Strollers are welcome! Packet pickup is on March 21 from 11 AM to 6 PM at Fleet Feet Carrboro. Register by February 23 for a complimentary t-shirt; after that, t-shirts will be available for $15.
This year, were excited to offer chip timing for all participants. Runners and walkers of all ages are encouraged to support our backpack and academic scholarship programs through awareness and advocacy.
Enjoy pre- and post-race workouts and stretches provided by Orange Theory Fitness. The Chapel Hill Police Department will be on-site to ensure safety along our USATF-certified 5K course.
SILENT AUCTION:
WE ARE HOSTING A SILENT AUCTION AGAIN THIS YEAR WITH AMAZING ITEMS DONATED FROM HOTELS, RESTAURANTS, GROCERY STORES, RETAIL, ETC., FROM VENDORS IN CHAPEL HILL/CARRBORO, DURHAM, RALEIGH, AND SURROUNDING AREAS. PLEASE BRING CASH AND OR CREDIT CARDS. OUR SILENT AUCTION WILL OPEN ON MARCH 15, 2025, FOR BIDS ONLINE. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT AT THE 5K EVENT TO WIN SILENT AUCTION ITEMS.
