THE THIRD ANNUAL MY REASON TO RUN FUNDRAISER IS BACK THIS TIME WITH A MISSION BIGGER THAN MYSELF. IN 2022, I, BRITNEY WALTERS-CHESTER, SURVIVED LEUKEMIA, BUT CANCER CAUSED A STROKE WHICH LEFT ME WITH A PARALYZED ARM AND LIMITED USE OF MY HAND. SINCE THEN, IVE WORKED TIRELESSLY TO REGAIN FUNCTION AND INDEPENDENCE, LEARNING FIRSTHAND HOW CRITICAL ACCESS TO RECOVERY RESOURCES CAN BE, AND HOW DIFFICULT THEY OFTEN ARE TO OBTAIN.
THIS RACE IS ABOUT PAYING FORWARD THE SUPPORT AND HOPE THAT RECOVERY REQUIRES. ALL FUNDS RAISED WILL BE DONATED TO LOCAL INDIVIDUALS IN NEED OF STROKE RECOVERY ASSISTANCE. WHETHER THATS HELPING PROVIDE ACCESS TO THERAPY, MEDICAL DEVICES, OR VITAL RESOURCES THAT ARE OFTEN DELAYED OR DENIED DUE TO COST AND INSURANCE BARRIERS.
