The 5K race will kick off with awards for the Top Overall Male and Female finishers, along with age group awards, making this event perfect for competitive runners and casual participants alike. Race bibs will be available for pickup starting at 7 AM on race day at the Aurora Fossil Museum. Every runner, whether they choose to compete in person or virtually, will receive a custom Finisher's Medal to celebrate their achievement, and those who register by April 25 will also snag a 2025 North Carolina Fossil Festival T-shirt. THE IN-PERSON NC FOSSIL FEST 5K RUN WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, MAY 25 IN AURORA, NC.
Join us for our Annual NC Fossil Festival 5K Fossil Run! The 5K will take place in the Town of Aurora. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Aurora Fossil Museum. All runners participating in person will be eligible for awards. Awards will be given for Top Overall Male/Female as well as age group awards for Male/Female. Race bibs can be picked up on race day in front of the Aurora Fossil Museum starting at 7am.
If you can't make it to the in-person event, you can opt to participate in our virtual event during the dates of May 18 - June 01. See virtual FAQ's for more information on how to download the RaceJoy app and submit your results. An $8 shipping fee will be added to the registration fee to cover the cost of mailing your race packet to you.
