After the race, immerse yourself in the festivities of the Fossil Festival, featuring opportunities to dig for teeth, explore food and product vendors, and engage with educational booths. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual race option is available from May 1 to May 25, allowing everyone to join in the fun from anywhere. All participants, whether running in person or virtually, will receive a custom Finisher's Medal, and those registering by April 25 will also snag a 2025 North Carolina Fossil Festival T-shirt. Don't miss out on this unique blend of fitness, community, and fossil exploration!

THE IN-PERSON NC FOSSIL FEST 5K RUN WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, MAY 25 IN AURORA, NC.
Join us for our Annual NC Fossil Festival 5K Fossil Run! The 5K will take place in the Town of Aurora. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Aurora Fossil Museum. All runners participating in person will be eligible for awards. Awards will be given for Top Overall Male/Female as well as age group awards for Male/Female. Race bibs can be picked up on race day in front of the Aurora Fossil Museum starting at 7am. After the race, enjoy the Fossil Festival activities! Dig for teeth, visit the food and product vendors, explore the educational booths!
If you can't make it to the in-person event, you can opt to participate in our virtual event during the dates of May 01 - May 25. See virtual FAQ's for more information on how to download the RaceJoy app and submit your results. An $8 shipping fee will be added to the registration fee to cover the cost of mailing your race packet to you.
