Organiser's Description
Nises Race was created in loving memory of my mom, Catherine Denise Thompson, affectionately known to many as Nise. On October 13, 2018, after a courageous 5-year battle with cervical cancer, she passed away.
What I want everyone to know about cervical cancer is this: It Is Preventable.
With regular check-ups, health screenings, and the HPV vaccine, women can take vital steps to prevent and detect cervical cancer early, when it's most treatable.
Whats important to know about my mom is that she was a people person through and througha true hugger who radiated warmth. She loved working with children and spent her career as a paraprofessional at Scoggins Middle School and Dallas Elementary School. She was also a devoted wife to Army veteran Larry Thompson, with whom she shared 36 years of marriage, honoring their vows until death do us part. She passed away at the age of 56, leaving behind three daughters and two grandsons.
As for me, Im a health and fitness enthusiast, deeply committed to helping others. It is this passion, combined with the memory of my mother, that drives me to take action.
My mission is simple yet profound: to help as many women as possible prioritize their health.
I believe that when women are physically and mentally well, they lead happier, more fulfilled lives. When fulfilled women show up for their families, those families thrive. And when strong families engage with their communities, we create vibrant, prosperous societies.
All life begins with a woman. When we enlighten and empower her, we ignite a spark in her that she will use to inspire future generations.
Join us for a fun, active family event in support of a great cause. Your participation means the world to us, and your support can help save lives.
