This exciting event will kick off bright and early at 8:00 AM, with race day registration and packet pick-up starting at 7:00 AM. Lace up your running shoes and be part of a community-driven initiative that supports the Rebuilding for Recovery (R4R) program at Carver Road Baptist Church. Participants will tackle a scenic 5K route (3.1 miles) while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow runners, walkers, and strollers.

New Salem Baptist Church (NSBC) and the Active Faith Ministry would like to welcome you to join our 3rd annual Spring Into Service 5k event! This year's 5k event will be in support of Carver Road Baptist Church (CRBC) and their Rebuilding for Recovery (R4R) Initiative! Both New Salem Baptist Church and Carver Road Baptist churches are located in Griffin and have many community service opportunities throughout the city of Griffin. New Salem's Active Faith Ministry is honored to have the opportunity to bring the community together to share the Gospel of Jesus and to support a local sister church in their efforts to rebuild and renovate their facilities to further their community outreach and support of the Celebrate Recovery ministry in Griffin. The R4R initiative will be raising funds for rebuilding and renovating mission building space at Carver Road Baptist church to be utilized for multiple community outreach opportunities. Currently, Celebrate Recovery is utilizing this mission space for its program needs. Celebrate Recovery is a 12 step program helping individuals over come their addictions and compulsive behaviors through a relationship with Jesus Christ. They have helped countless indivduals and families find healing and restoration through Salvation. This ministry is based out of Carver Road Baptist Church and is a safe place for people to come and find help. Celebrate Recovery at CRBC hosts those in rehab programs, court mandated drug and alcohol offenders, and many more in need of healing. Individuals are provided transport via bus to weekly meetings and are provided free of charge a hot meal, access to CRBC clothing closet, and CRBC library in addition to the meeting. The building that is being renovated for continued use of the Celebrate Recovery program and other outreach ministries of CRBC is in need of HVAC work, kitchen update, appliance update, sound and technology update, and overall basic renovation for a safe, comfortable, and functional environment. RACE DETAILS:
This event will be a 5k distance (3.1 miles). As we are wanting every dollar possible to go directly to R4R initiative this race will not be chip timed. We will have a horn start and a timing crew recording all finishers times and race results. We will have an age group award ceremony and winners will receive a medal. All registrants will receive a race T-shirt designed and printed by J-Max graphics (be sure to sign up by the shirt deadline to guarantee a shirt), race bib, course support, and post race hot breakfast. Breakfast will be lovingly donated and prepared by New Salem Baptist Church!
Having a fun and safe race is a priority. We will have support from Griffin PD and New Salem Baptist / Carver Road Baptist church volunteers. The course will be well marked and volunteers will be along the route to cheer you on and make sure you know where all the turns are located. There will be one water station about halfway through the course. We will warm up all the walkers/ runners with sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, prayer, opening remarks/ instructions, and praise music starting at 7:30 AM. Race starts at 8:00 AM sharp. Runners, walkers, and strollers are welcome! Any minor child running / walking the race on their own and not in a stroller should register for the event and be accompanied and monitored by an adult. We respectfully request no pets.
AGE GROUP AWARDS FOR MALE AND FEMALE RACERS:
Overall Winner and Overall Master Winner (age 40+), 9 and under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.
Ghost runners will be able to submit by email their virtual race times and will be included in the final race results in their own category. Virtual results will not be eligible for race day awards.

You may pick up your T-Shirt New Salem Baptist church by appointment or we will mail / deliver your shirt to the address provided after the race.
