Join MSE Racing and Coach Sally Drake for a relaxed, supportive open water swim practice series at beautiful Innsbrook Resort at Lionshead Beach on Lake Aspen. Whether youre new to open water or a confident swimmer looking for quality lake time, these sessions are designed to help you build skills, confidence, and community.
DATES & TIME
Session #1 - May 27, Session #2 - June 24 & Session #3 - July 22
(Dates may be extended into late summer based on demand.)
Drop in anytime between 530 PM and stay as long as youd like. Whether youre getting in a quick swim or sticking around for the full session, this is a flexible, low-pressure environment designed to fit your schedule.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Coach Sally Drake will lead an optional beginner-friendly clinic at 5:30 PM right on shore. Youll learn essential open water skills like sighting, managing panic, swimming in current, and understanding different triathlon swim starts, and more. After that, get in the water to practice at your own pace or enjoy a steady swim.
Swim buoys will be set up on the lake specifically for sighting practice and navigation. A limited number of inflatable swim buoys will also be available for personal use, and wetsuits are welcome.
SAFETY & SUPPORT
Safety is a top priority. Lifeguards from BYLG will be on the water along with experienced volunteers. Angel swimmers are also availableif youd like a buddy to swim with or if this is your first open water experience, please indicate this when answering the registration questions so we can be sure to support you.
Stick around after your swim to connect with fellow athletes and enjoy the Innsbrook setting. Come for the training, stay for the community, and get more comfortable in open water with a group thats got your back.
