Join us for the vibrant Outrun the Rays 5k Walk/Run on Saturday, May 16, 2026, held at the Peosta Community Center in Dubuque, Iowa! This exciting event is not only a chance to get active but also a wonderful opportunity to honor melanoma warriors. The 5k race kicks off at 9:15 a.m., and participants can enjoy a professionally timed experience as they race through the scenic surroundings. For our younger participants, the Kids' Fun Run starts at 8:45 a.m., where children aged 9 and under can compete for medals and receive a t-shirt and race packet.
Registration is open until May 11 for just $25, and a late registration option will be available on race day for $30, though shirts are not guaranteed for late entries. We encourage friends and family to come together to support their loved ones by wearing team t-shirts. After the run, stick around for a bike ride starting at 1:00 p.m. at Darkbird Taphouse, offering two scenic routes of 24 or 38 miles for a free-will donation. Racers 9 and under can register for the Kids' Fun Run. This race will not be professionally timed, but medals will be given for the top three finishers for boys and girls. Registration will include a t-shirt and race packet. Kids' Fun Run will begin at 8:45 a.m.
While we encourage family and friends of melanoma warriors to walk/run together as a team, and wear a team t-shirt to honor a loved one who has battled this disease, you do not need to register as a team. All registrations are individual- see you on race day!
