The 16th Annual Park to Park Half Marathon, 10K, & 1K event organized by Race Pace Multisport is set to take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in Sulphur, Louisiana. Registration opens on September 15, 2024, with various pricing tiers available until the race day. This event, which started with a group of novice runners called the "Spar Stars" running for a cancer patient, has now become a fundraiser for others in need. The races benefit the Sulphur High School Track & Field and Cross Country Program, with volunteers from the school cheering participants along the route. The 1K race proceeds go towards supporting a cancer warrior, with this year's recipient to be announced. Southwest Louisiana is known for its quality sports facilities, and the Park to Park races will take participants through historical buildings and landmarks in the area. Join us in Sulphur on February 15, 2025, for a day of running, community support, and fun! #RunSulphur!

IT ALL STARTED WITH RUNNING FOR JIMBO IN 2010. A GROUP OF NOVICE RUNNERS CALLED THE "SPAR STARS" WERE TRAINING FOR AN OUT OF TOWN HALF MARATHON WHEN ONE OF THEIR HUSBANDS WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER. RATHER THAN TRAVELING OUT OF TOWN TO RUN, THE GROUP OF RUNNERS DECIDED TO "RUN FOR JIMBO". THE HALF MARATHON RAISED MONEY FOR MEDICAL EXPENSES FOR JIMBO'S CANCER TREATMENT.
SULPHUR'S FIRST HALF MARATHON WAS SUPPORTED WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AND IS NOW A FUNDRAISER FOR OTHERS. THE SULPHUR HIGH SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD AND CROSS COUNTRY PROGRAM BENEFITS FROM THE HALF MARATHON & 10 KILOMETER RACES. VOLUNTEERS FROM THE SULPHUR HIGH SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD AND CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS ARE YOUR CHEERLEADERS ALONG THE RACE ROUTE.
THE 1 KILOMETER RACE PROCEEDS BENEFIT A CANCER WARRIOR. THIS YEAR'S CANCER WARRIOR IS TBD.

THE PARK TO PARK RACES WILL TAKE YOU TO THROUGH SOME OF THESE FACILITIES AND PASSED HISTORICAL BUILDINGS SUCH AS HENNING CULTURAL CENTER, WEST CALCASIEU CAMERON HOSPITAL, AND THE OLD CITY COURTHOUSE.

The route is an out and back route that begins and ends at Sulphur Heritage Square. Then runners travel through Frasch Park, around Sulphur High School, along Cypress Street and Maplewood Drive then through McMurry Park before heading back to returning same route back to Heritage Square. -
