Do you usually find yourself on two wheels? Are you just a bit RUN-CURIOUS? Are you ready to start moving but not sure where to start? Do you simply want to have a great time in Roanoke?
READY TO FLIP THE SCRIPT?
For one wild and wonderful half hour, runners will take over the bike course in this FREE, fun, and fast-paced 1K loop event. The twist? Youll be dressed like a cyclist!
Whether you're a die-hard runner, a weekend warrior, or just looking for a good time, PEDAL SAFE invites you to bring your best cycling-themed outfitbike jerseys, helmets, padded shorts, sunglasses, and alland hit the course for a celebration of movement, community, and safer streets.
How It Works:
The course is a 1K loop on the same ground used for the US Cycling MTB Championship.
Youll have 30 minutes to complete as many laps as you can.
Go solo and set your own paceor grab a friend and run it relay-style, trading off each lap.
Biker-themed costumes are encouraged! Bonus points (and prizes!) for the most creative looks.

This event isnt just about fun (though theres plenty of that). Its about bringing runners and bikers together in a show of support for safer, shared streets. PEDAL SAFE, an advocacy group dedicated to protecting bikers, runners, and walkers through education, awareness, and community action. Together, were supporting Roanokes Vision Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate traffic fatalities and create safer, more inclusive streets. Lets raise awareness for pedestrian and cyclist safetyand have a blast doing it.
By bringing together runners and riders in one fun, high-visibility event, were showing that we can share the roadand make it better for all.
