Event summary
Over the years, Pedaling for Payson has raised over a million dollars for the Gene Gillis Fund, which helps cover out-of-pocket expenses like gas, groceries, and nutritional supplements for patients battling cancer. With the introduction of the Pedaling for HOPE Fund, this event is dedicated not only to fundraising but also to ensuring that every patient has access to a Nurse Navigator, a vital resource for navigating the challenges of treatment. Mark your calendars and join us in this exhilarating celebration of life, community, and support β letβs make the 20th year of Pedaling for Payson the best one yet!
Organiser's Description
This community event attracts cyclists and Payson Center for Cancer Care supporters annually, who raise funds for the Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care. Monies raised are used to provide our most vulnerable patients with a Nurse Navigator. The Nurse Navigator is a staff member, a "professional family member", dedicated to helping cancer patients find the medical, community, and financial support they need quickly, which in turn helps to calm the patients anxieties related to their treatment. No one should have to experience cancer alone, and by participating in Pedaling for Payson, you are helping to ensure that patients at the Payson Center have access to Nurse Navigators.
Come out and join us for a road, mountain, or gravel - or hop on a stationary bike and take a 30-minute spin class. Whatever your reason may be, consider joining in on all that Pedaling for Payson has to offer.
Pedaling for Payson has raised over a million dollars thus far in support of the Gene Gillis Fund, specifically supporting patients in need at Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care. The Fund covers out-of-pocket expenses such as gift cards for gas, groceries, nutritional supplements, and other items to improve the quality of life for patients battling cancer. In 2017, the Pedaling for Payson Committee created the Pedaling for HOPE Fund to go a step further and provide additional funds to support Nurse Navigation at the Payson Center to ensure patients have access to a critical support system during their time being treated, and beyond.
We look forward to celebrating 20 years of Pedaling for Payson and ensuring there are 20 more years to come.
