Get ready for an exciting day of fitness and fun at the Pirate Nurse 5K on Saturday, April 11th, 2026, in Greenville, Pitt! This beloved event not only brings together current nursing students and alumni but also offers a fantastic opportunity for sponsors to support the next generation of Pirate Nurses. Participants can choose between an in-person race or a virtual option, making it accessible for everyone. The Kids' Run kicks off at 8:45 AM, followed by the main 5K race at 9:00 AM.
The scenic course starts in front of the College of Nursing, winding through the Medical District and Health Science Campus, and around the picturesque Laupus Lake, finishing at the Health Science Building. Registration is just $35 for individuals or $25 for ECU students, but be sure to sign up before March 27th to avoid a price increase and secure your t-shirt! Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers, as well as the top two in each age category. Join us for a day of camaraderie, competition, and community spirit as we celebrate the noble profession of nursing!

Organiser's Description
The Pirate Nurse 5K has become a popular legacy event for current students, and a welcomed opportunity for sponsors to show their support for nursing students. Its also an opportunity for alumni to re-connect with the College of Nursing and show their support for future Pirate Nurses. In concert with nursing culture, the charitable aspect of the event is integral to the ideal of service, one of the hallmarks of nursing education at the ECU College of Nursing. There will be an in-person race and a virtual option (your choice)!!
The race day registration will end at 7:30am. The Kids' Run will start at 8:45am and the Pirate Nurse 5k will start at 9:00am. Come join us!!!

ECU Student Registration - $25
Prices increase by $10 after March 27th.
AWARDS/CATEGORIES:
Overall male and female; top two finishes in each age category (divisions of 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up)
GIVEAWAY:
T-shirt and other gifts. Registration prices increase and no guaranteed t-shirts after March 28th.
