Amelia Island Runners presents the Pirates on the Run 5K to be held March 30, 2024 at 7:30 AM at the Atlantic Recreation Center at 2500 Atlantic Avenue in Fernandina Beach, FL.. The Pirates on the Run Fun Run will start at the Pirates playground area of the Atlantic Rec Center at 8:30 am.

For the 5K Dri Fit T shirts and custom race medals for all participants. Fast, flat course in beautiful Fernandina Beach. Overall and Masters winners receive the coveted custom embroidered pirate hat. Age group winners receive the cool custom fun foam pirate hat and a picture opportunity wearing your hat and shaking hands with a pirate.

The Fun Run starts at the Pirates Playground and is out and back on the Egan's Creek Greenway for .6 miles or 1 kilometer. Each participant gets a cool pirate hat and some fun but fake doubloons. Tshirts are not included but can be purchased at registration.

Pirate running costumes are an option for both children and adults and awards will be given in both categories.

Event Schedule:

Packet pickup for both 5K and Fun Run is Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29 at Mythic Running Company located at 815 S 8th St in Fernandina Beach. Special packet pickup after store closing until 7 PM on Thursday evening.

Final Race registration and packet pickup for 5K is 6:30 AM on race day
Final race registration and packet pickup for Fun Run is 7:45 am at Pirates Playground on race day.

Unique awards will be presented to the following categories:
- Top three men and women overall
- First masters male and female overall
- Top three in each of the following male and female age groups: 10 & under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65- 69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80+

Race Timing: The race will be timed using the bib chip

5K route is a flat, fast course on paved roads.
