Join us for the exhilarating Pleasanton Rotary Halloween Spirit Run on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in the heart of Pleasanton, Alameda! This festive event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with timed 5K and 10K races, where participants can don their favorite costumes to add to the fun. Not only will runners compete for overall and age group awards, but every participant in the 5K and 10K will receive a long sleeve shirt, with the first 750 registrants guaranteed a spot. For the younger crowd, the Kids Challenge features a new 1/4 mile distance and a 100-yard dash starting at 10:00 a.m., ensuring a day filled with excitement for the entire family.
This year marks the 31st running of this beloved event, and all finishers in the 5K, 10K, and Kid's Race will take home a commemorative medal. Proceeds from the run support scholarships for local students and community projects, making every step count. JOIN US ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13 FOR THIS YEAR'S EVENT!
Start and finish in Downtown Pleasanton on Main Street. Wear a costume if you would like!
5K/10K starts at 8:30 a.m. 5K and 10K events are timed; awards will be presented to overall winners as well as to top finishers in each age group. Kids Challenge (new 1/4 mile distance, plus a 100 yard dash) starts at 10:00 am. Races will be run separately and from youngest to oldest. Kids ages 12 and under are welcome to participate.
Long sleeve shirts for 5K-10K runners - first 750 to register. Kids Challenge entry includes a short sleeve t-shirt. Participants may opt out of t-shirt if they wish.
To celebrate our 31st running of this event, finisher medals will be awarded to all 5K, 10K, and Kid's Race participants this year.
PROCEEDS
Proceeds support scholarships for Pleasanton students and community & international projects of The Rotary Club of Pleasanton.
LEASHED DOGS
Well-behaved dogs are permitted in the 5K or 10K; all dogs must start in the back of the pack at the starting line, be on a non-retractable leash, and be cleaned up after by their human. Dogs attending the event should be comfortable in crowds as well as around other dogs.
STROLLERS
Strollers are allowed in both the 5K and 10K; we ask that you start towards the back.
PACKET PICK UP
PRE-RACE PACKET PICK UP will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Fleet Feet Pleasanton (10:30am-2:30pm). Fleet Feet is located at 234 Main Street. Participants may also pick up their bib and tshirt on race morning (10/13) near the start/finish line starting at 7 am and continuing through 8:15 am (through 9:45 am for Kids Challenge entrants).
Photo ID is not required to pick up packets and you may pick up for friends or family.
IN-PERSON REGISTRATION
Participants may register in-person at Packet Pick Up (Saturday, October 12, 10:30am-2:30pm at Fleet Feet Pleasanton) or on race morning (Sunday, October 13, 7:00 am to 8:20 am at the start/finish area adjacent to Workbench Hardware - 652 Main Street, Pleasanton). Those registering in-person may present payment in the forms of debit/credit card or cash. Personal checks are not accepted.
AWARDS & AGE GROUPS
Custom medals will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K in each age group. Overall winners will also receive a prize. Age groups are: 10K / 13 and Under, 14-18 yrs., 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. 5K age groups are: 9 and under, 10-13 yrs., 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.
