    Course Description The Power of Horses 5K takes place on one of Western Massachusetts' most scenic running routesthe beautiful Ashley Reservoir in Holyoke. This picturesque 5K course follows a wide, well-maintained crushed stone and hard-packed dirt path that winds through peaceful woodlands and around the sparkling waters of the reservoir. With its mostly flat terrain and gentle elevation changes, the course is ideal for runners and walkers of all ability levels. Along the route, participants will cross several scenic causeways that offer breathtaking views of the water and surrounding landscape. Keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife that calls the reservoir home, including great blue herons, ducks, geese, turtles, and other native birds. Towering hemlocks, quiet forests, and tranquil ponds create a peaceful backdrop that makes every mile enjoyable.
