The schedule kicks off with check-in at 6:00 PM, followed by a fun 5K group run at 6:30 PM—headlamps required! Although it’s not a timed race, the camaraderie and shared passion for running will make it a memorable experience.
In addition to the run, come prepared to donate jars of peanut butter to support the Midwest Food Bank and enjoy delicious offerings from The Mad Greek food truck. The evening wraps up with a club meeting and discussion featuring Hans Troyer from 7:30 to 8:30 PM. He and his wife, Grace, live in the Cartersville, Georgia area. Hans established his running foundation in Newnan and Peachtree City, Georgia, where, with the support of a dynamic family, he participated in track and cross-country at Trinity Christian School. Hans honed his running speed and skills while competing for Augusta University, earning distinctions in track and cross-country, while helping his team win conference titles. After graduating from Augusta University, and consistent with his personality, Hans dove headfirst into ultra trail running. Hans quickly progressed from local trailer races in 2023 to the national stage in 2024, winning Bandera 50k. After a medical setback and a learning curve in 2024, Hans rebounded stronger and with purpose in 2025, winning both Bandera 50k and Way to Cool 50k. He then qualified for the 100 mile Western States Endurance Run by placing second overall at Canyons Endurance Run/by UTMB 100k. In June 2025, Hans achieved a major objective by running Western States 100, placing 8th overall in a time of just over 16 hours! Hans' performance was phenomenal! He showed the confidence, grit, and resilience to compete with the best in the world.
On November 3rd, we'll learn from Hans about his journey so far and what he is working toward in the future. Prepare to be inspired to be young (or young at heart) and fit in your running and life.
