This exciting event is hosted at the Worthington Fire Hall, located at 171 Linton Alley, and promises a day filled with fun and community spirit, rain or shine. Participants can choose between a 2K and a 5K race that winds through the charming town of Worthington and picturesque farm country.
This event is not only an opportunity for fitness and camaraderie but also a chance to support a noble cause. A dedicated group of senior high students is working tirelessly to raise funds for the local animal shelter, Orphans of the Storm, which is in urgent need of resources to complete its new facility. After the races, enjoy a variety of community-focused activities, including a Car Cruise, the Strut Your Mutt Pet Parade, kickball tournaments, craft vendors, food trucks, and live performances by Armstrong High School students. With all proceeds going directly to the animal shelter after expenses, your participation will make a real difference. Come out and support our students, our community, and the furry friends who need our help!

Organiser's Description
A group of senior high students set out to raise funds for the local animal shelter, Orphans of the Storm. After spending an afternoon there, they saw firsthand how overcrowded the facility was and recognized the urgent need to complete the new shelter so it could open as soon as possible. Partnering with staff and junior high students at Armstrong High School, they formed the Armstrong Riverhawks Rally for Rescues committee.
The event is May 22nd, rain or shine, at the Worthington Fire Hall, 171 Linton Alley, Worthington, PA. Along with a 2K/5K, other community-focused activities are planned, including:
* Car cruise/Social
* Strut Your Mutt Pet Parade
* Kickball Tournaments
* Craft vendors
* Food Trucks
* Live entertainment by Armstrong High School Students, including a Taiko performance (Japanese drums)
* Games
* Meet & Greet with Orphans of the Storms animals
AFTER EXPENSES ARE PAID, ALL MONEY WILL BE DONATED TO ORPHANS OF THE STORM ANIMAL SHELTER OF ARMSTRONG COUNTY.
_THE STUDENTS HAVE EXCLUSIVELY PLANNED, ORGANIZED, AND WILL HOLD THIS EVENT. THEY HAVE DONE AN AMAZING JOB BEING MOTIVATED, PLANNING, AND COORDINATING THIS EVENT! COME AND SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS AND OUR COMMUNITY! _
** The 2K/5K is through the town of Worthington and scenic farm country. Safety is of utmost importance! Therefore, the following will be in place:
* Water stations throughout route
* Ambulance/EMT services
* Cart service for emergencies
* Gatorade and bananas for electrolytes
* Escort by Worthington firemen
