Get ready for an exhilarating day of endurance and excitement at the inaugural Red River Ultrafest, taking place on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, in the beautiful city of Moorhead, Clay. This ultramarathon is the first of its kind in the Fargo/Moorhead area, designed to provide a platform for endurance athletes to challenge their limits and embrace the thrill of racing. Participants will have the opportunity to choose from three race distances: a 3-hour, 6-hour, or 12-hour event, with categories for both Run/Walk and Ruck (with weight requirements).
Race day kicks off bright and early, with registration opening at 6:00 am and races starting at 7:00 am for the 12-hour category, followed by the 6-hour at 8:00 am, and the 3-hour at 9:00 am. The scenic course will take runners on a 5-mile loop starting in Gooseberry, traversing through picturesque trails and across the bridge into Lindenwood, before heading back. Participants can look forward to an incredible aid station experience, featuring all the snacks and fuel needed to keep energy levels high. Plus, every racer will receive a commemorative race T

Why are we putting this race on? Fargo/Moorhead needs a space for endurance athletes to push themselves. This is that opportunity.
Race Description- Max distance in one of the following time domains: (prices will increase as we near the event start)
-3 hours ($75 + fees)
-6 hours ($100 + fees)
-12 hours ($125 + fees)
Two racing categories for each time domain:
-Run/Walk
-Ruck (45lbs for men/ 35lbs for women) racer must supply their pack with proper weights
Registration Includes:
-Race T-shirt
-Finishers Award
-Finish Pizza
-All of the snacks and fuel you could want at the aid station

We will ensure that our main aid station is one of the best you will experience at any race. Please bring a collapsible cup if you have one. Limited cups will be available at the event. There will be a lightly stocked water station at the turnaround point.
