Organiser's Description
Upon the native lands of the Susquehannock peoples, now managed by our wonderful York County Parks, we will run a challenging 9 mile trail route the circumference of the lake named for the "Redman"
Tokens will be awarded to all finishers and top finishers will earn premium tokens. Post-race food in the pavilion.
The route is mostly single track, climbs a cumulative total of 1,200'+ and crawls under Interstate-83 twice. Both tunnels carry water, usually ankle deep. The second tunnel crossing (~50yds long) will require you to duck your head the length of the tunnel for clearance. You don't need a headlamp, but if you are claustrophobic or afraid of a bit of dark, this is your notice.
There will be one aid station at just around the half way point stocked with water, Tailwind, performance candy and other fast energy goodies.
Plenty of time to get around the course. 1.5 hours to the aid station (4.5 miles) and 3 hours to the finish cutoff.
Bib pickup starts at 6:45am Saturday morning
The course will be open to the public during the event, so runners are asked to conduct themsleves courteously to other trail users. Littering will not be tolerated.
$20 cash paid on race morning. No fee will be collected here, now, in case the race needs to be cancelled by the York County Parks due to poor trail conditions.
The race is part of the YRR Trail Series so any current YRRC member that runs will be eligible for points.
I'm looking for volunteers to help and this would be a great chance to get your one needed volunteer credit for Series participants to fully eligible for an award at the end of the year.
Online registration closes Thursdays. Day of registration is available for $20, cash only.
