WELCOME TO OUR 11TH ANNUAL REMEMBER THE FALLEN 5K RUN/WALK! WE ARE EXCITED TO PROVIDE IN PERSON AND VIRTUAL RACE OPTIONS. THE EVENT IS HOSTED BY THE SOUTH DAKOTA FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE 1. THIS EVENT IS A WAY TO REMEMBER THOSE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES SERVING THEIR COMMUNITIES, AS WELL TO SAY THANK YOU FOR THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO PROTECT OUR COMMUNITIES EVERY DAY!
THIS YEAR'S EVENT WILL COME AT THE END OF NATIONAL POLICE WEEK. IN 1962, PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY SIGNED A PROCLAMATION WHICH DESIGNATED MAY 15 AS PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL DAY AND THE WEEK IN WHICH THAT DATE FALLS AS POLICE WEEK. CURRENTLY, TENS OF THOUSANDS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD CONVERGE ON WASHINGTON, DC TO PARTICIPATE IN A NUMBER OF PLANNED EVENTS WHICH HONOR THOSE THAT HAVE PAID THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.

The 5K Walk/Run will be run on the scenic Sioux Falls Bike Trail. We will run again this year at Riverdale Park, 2000 E 24th Street, Sioux Falls, SD. Packet pickup this year will be at the Law Enforcement Center, 320 W 4th Street, on Friday May 15th from 3-5pm. -

We are adding a virtual option again for this year's event! If you choose to participate virtually, you will need to complete your 5k during Police Week, May 15-20th with your results submitted by 9am on May 20th. Participants in the virtual race are not eligible for awards. Choose your date, location, and have fun!!
