This exciting event features a 5K Penguin Dash starting at 8:00 AM, followed by a 1-Mile Family Fun Walk at 8:30 AM and a delightful Toddler Waddle at 9:05 AM. Participants of all ages are encouraged to join in on the festivities, dressing up in their favorite penguin-themed attire to celebrate the charming South African Penguins.
The race kicks off in front of Ripley’s Aquarium, taking runners through the vibrant Broadway at the Beach shopping and dining complex. Enjoy the company of Norman and Sharkee, and perhaps even spot some real penguins! Each participant will receive a race bib, a finisher medal for the Dash and 1 Mile, and a participant shirt (while supplies last). Plus, your entry supports important penguin conservation efforts, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting SANCCOB. ABOUT RIPLEY'S PENGUIN DASH:
Ripleys Aquarium of Myrtle Beach is excited to host the Penguin Dash Run/Walk and Ripleys Penguin Family Fun 1 mile walk/run! This family-friendly, themed event will be a celebration of the South African Penguins. Guests are encouraged to dress up and all ages are welcome. There is even a free Toddler Waddle taking place in front of Ripleys Aquarium that morning at 9am. This event will start and end in front of Ripleys Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach and the route takes the runners through the Broadway at the Beach shopping and dining complex. A portion of race proceeds will be donated toward Penguin Conservation efforts through SANCCOB- The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds. https://sanccob.co.za/ In addition, each participant has the opportunity to make subsequent donations during registration. These donations go directly toward the penguin conservation.
