FAQ: Where will packet pickup be? Packet pickup will be at a set location. All runners who sign up will be emailed about packet pickup a few weeks before race day. Is the color powder safe? The health of our participants and employees is always our top priority. The color powder is made from FDA regulated corn starch and banking soda. It is non-toxic and safe to ingest in small amounts. Sunglasses/goggles/bandanas are an extra safety step, but not required. What if I am pregnant? That is between you and your doctor. The powder is all certified non-toxic. We recommend wearing sunglasses or goggles, and a bandana over your mouth and nose in the color zones just for extra protection if you are concerned. Will the color wash out of my shoes/clothes? The color mostly washes out after the event. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. Its best to wear items that you wouldnt mind getting colorful. Can I run/walk with my pets? While animals are allowed in Garvin Park, for the safety of our runners and animal friends, we do not allow animals in the race. Can I bring my child? Yes! Strollers are also allowed in the race-- just mind they may get colorful! What if I lose my child? Participants who will be running with children are encouraged to pick up a wristband for their child. You can pick up a wristband at the check-in party and write your name and phone number. If your child is lost, immediately contact a River City Pride Official. Do I have to come run/walk to enjoy the after party? No! We will have additional color packets available for purchase for those who wish to spend time with the community without participating in the race. Will the event be cancelled for rain? No. A little rain wont stop the community from coming together. It even makes the color brighter! Is this run/walk timed? No. We encourage self-timing for those who wish to be timed. This event will not be keeping track-- everyone is a winner by showing up and supporting the community!
