Organiser's Description

Starting just steps away from historic Fort Cronkhite, a preserved WWII mobilization post, and the dark sands of Rodeo Beach, this trail race is comprised of steep pitches and lofty downhill sections as it undulates the beautiful Marin Headlands hills and coastline. Coastal trail and Pirates cove provide astonishing views of the Pacific ocean, while glimpses of San Francisco and the Golden Gate bridge appear as you traverse the SCA Trail single-track. As part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the Marin Headlands is rich with wildlife, including foxes, coyotes, and bobcats, along with the more rare mountain lion sighting. With distances of 8K, Half Marathon, 30K, and 50K there is a race to challenge and appreciate all running abilities and a scenery that will make even the most curse-worthy climb more benign.

Capacity: The Rodeo Valley Trail Run has a capacity of 400 runners, across all distances.

Time Limit: There is an 8.5 hour time limit for the 50K & 30K race. All runners must be off the course by 3:30 PM.

Parking: Free parking is available in the surrounding areas to the Start/Finish at Rodeo Beach. Runners may utilize the pullouts along Mitchell Road, along the beach, the annex lot below the Marine Mammal Center, and the Smith Road Parking Lot (Gerbode Valley Trailhead) along Bunker Road. The walk from the Marine Mammal Center lot to the Start/Finish is about 1/3 mile. In addition, we will have shuttles (depending on COVID-19 regulations) running between Smith Road and Rodeo Beach all day.

Timing: All races are professionally chip timed, utilizing MyLaps and Race Director, ensuring your time is captured as accurately as possible. Disposable chips are attached to back of each bib number.

Dog Policy: Dogs are allowed at Rodeo Beach, and on specific trails within the Headlands. Pups must be on leash at all times. You may run the 8K with your dog, but must start at the back of the pack and allow all other runners to proceed before starting. Dogs are not permitted to run any other distance.
