Kicking off at 8 AM, this spirited event celebrates America's 250th Birthday and is set in the picturesque Westerville Sports Complex, located at 325 N. Cleveland Ave. Participants can enjoy a beautiful 5K course that winds through paved multipurpose trails, leading you through the scenic landscape of the Sports Complex and Heritage Park.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! Arrive early to catch the Honor Guard presentation at 7:30 AM, and don't miss the Kids Fun Run sprints at 7:45 AM. The day is packed with festivities, including the vibrant State Street Parade at 10:30 AM, a Free Concert and Food Truck Festival from 5-10 PM, and a spectacular Patriotic Fireworks Display at 10 PM. Proceeds from the race will benefit local veterans and first responders organizations, making every step count. Participants will receive an event T-shirt, a race medal, and other goodies, with medals awarded to all Kids Fun Run participants. Celebrate America's 250th Birthday and get your July 4th holiday moving with the Rotary Club of Westervilles Independence Day 5K at 8 AM Saturday, July 4!
As it has since 2021, the 5K will take place at the Westerville Sports Complex, 325 N. Cleveland Ave. The race at the Sports Complex begins our day-long celebration of the Fourth, with our other dawn-to-dusk events including the big State Street Parade (10:30 AM), Free Concert and Food Truck Festival (5-10 PM) and Patriotic Fireworks Display (10 PM). Proceeds of the race will benefit local veterans and first responders organizations. An Honor Guard presentation will start the event at 7:30 AM. Our traditional Kids Fun Run sprints will take place at 7:45 AM -- a change to BEFORE the 5K from past years. The Race course travels on paved multipurpose trails through the Sports Complex property, under Cleveland Avenue, along the Westerville Community Center property, down to Heritage Park, and back to the finish/start line at the Sports Complex, adjacent to the new Veterans Memorial Plaza. Participants in the 5K receive an event T-shirt, race medal and other goodies. Kids Fun Run participants receive a medal. The event is pre-registration only.
