Join us for the vibrant "Run for a Cause: MCTS 5K/2K Run" event on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Tipton Park South Shelter in Bloomington, McLean! This exciting community gathering, inspired by the Tamil word "Sangamam," meaning confluence, aims to unite our Indian community and give back to those in need. Participants can choose between a 5K run or a 2K run/walk, with fun water gun activities for kids under 15. The event runs from 7 AM to 9 AM, and all proceeds will support local non-profits working to combat poverty and provide essential food supplies.
Don't miss the pre-race T-shirt and bib pickup on Friday, July 24, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, or grab your gear on race day! Awards will be given for top overall male and female runners in both race distances, as well as age bracket awards for various age groups. The Word "Sangamam" in the Tamil Language means, Confluence or assembly or junction or in simple terms, Join together in one place. Tamil is one of the oldest and most classical languages in the world. The primary purpose of this event is to bring the entire community together and show our Indian community presence and our support by giving back to the community where we live.
As part of this, proceeds from the profit will be donated to local non-profits that have local programs to Overcome Poverty and/or provide food supplies for the needy.
