Get ready for an exciting day of community spirit and healthy fun at the 2026 Run for Rio 5K, taking place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in beautiful Aptos, Santa Cruz! This vibrant event features a 5K walk/run (3.1 miles) for all ages and a special Kids 1K for participants aged 10 and under, making it a fantastic family experience. Join fellow runners and walkers as we come together to promote good health and wellness while supporting Rio Del Mar Elementary School.
Be sure to take advantage of early bird pricing through February 28, and if you register a family of four or five for the 5K, you'll receive a special discount! Participants will have the chance to win Fleet Feet gift cards and Rio gear, awarded to the top finishers in each age group for both the 1K and 5K. Plus, everyone will take home a Run for Rio water bottle or coffee mug, and enjoy refreshing Martinelli's apple juice, delicious Pacific Cookie Co cookies, and a finisher's ribbon at the finish line.
