Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the inspiring Run for the Fallen 10K and 5K event at Merced College on Sunday, November 9th, 2025! This uplifting occasion will kick off with opening ceremonies starting at 8:45 AM, honoring our local fallen heroes before the races begin at 9:00 AM, rain or shine. Participants of all ages are welcome to join this heartfelt tribute that commemorates the sacrifices of service members from past and present.
The event features both a FREE 5K run/walk and a 10K run, starting and finishing near the main lawn where the Field of Honor is located. With chip timing and medals awarded to the top finishers in various age groups, everyone has a chance to be recognized for their efforts. Commemorative t-shirts will also be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Merced Field of Honor. Don’t forget, online registration closes on November 7th, but you can also register on race day from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM. Join us at Merced College to celebrate and remember those who have served our country while making lasting memories with family and friends!

OPENING CEREMONIES BEGIN AT 8:45AM. 5K/10K STARTS AT 9:00AM... RAIN OR SHINE.
On Flag Day, June 14, 2008, a dedicated team of runners participated in the first Run for the Fallen and ran 4100 miles across America from Fort Irwin, CA to Arlington National Cemetery, one mile for every Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, and Marine killed since the War on Terror began. In 2018 on its tenth anniversary Honor and Remember expanded the initial run by creating Americas Run for the Fallen, the most comprehensive fallen veteran tribute to date. April 7th - August 5th, covering 6,000 miles over 120 days through 19 states honoring over 20,000 service members.
Each year since the first run across America, runners from around the world have joined Run for the Fallen in remembering our fallen. Over 50,000+ participants and over 200,000+ miles have been collectively run in remembrance of those heroes, organized in over 26 states. Help us keep the memory of our local fallen heroes alive by joining us at Merced College on Sunday, November 10th.
The MERCED SUNRISE ROTARY CLUB would like to invite you, your family, and your friends to this years Run for the Fallen and Field of Honor events. On Sunday, November 9th, the FREE 5KRUN/WALK & 10K RUN will start at 9am. The start and finish will take place near the main lawn where the Field of Honor is located at Merced College near M St./Yosemite Ave. All participants will be chip-timed and eligible to receive a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Place medal in all male and female Age-groups. Those Age-groups are: 10 & under, 11-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. COMMEMORATIVE T-SHIRTS WILL BE SOLD FOR $25 ON RACE DAY AND ONLY WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, WITH ALL PROCEEDS DONATED TO THE MERCED FIELD OF HONOR. We thank you for your support, in advance.
