Get ready to kick off summer with the exhilarating Run Into Summer/Blueberry Pie 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in beautiful Osterville, Barnstable! This vibrant event promises a day full of excitement, starting with the Kids Race at 9:00 AM, followed by the 5K at 9:15 AM and the Challenger 1 Mile Run at 9:20 AM. Runners of all ages and abilities will enjoy a chip-timed course that winds through the picturesque landscapes of Osterville, all while supporting a fantastic cause.

But the fun doesn't stop there! Join in the delicious Pie Eating Contest at 10:30 AM, where competitors will vie for the title across three divisions, with prizes including trophies and t-shirts. The blueberry pies, generously provided by Centerville Pie Company, are not just the reward for winners, but also a delightful treat for all participants. With new categories this year, such as "age-graded top ten" and "fastest team or family," there's something for everyone. Run into Summer/Blueberry Pie 5K Run plus an exciting Challenger 1 Mile Run designed for people of all abilities to participate and enjoy the thrill of crossing the finish line.

The course starts and finishes at the Cape Cod Cooperative School / Cape Cod Challenger Club at 418 Bumps River Road and takes runners through a beautiful rolling course through Osterville. This race is chip timed on every runner's racing bib. The race course is USA Track & Field officially measured but not officially certified; unfortunately, no world records can be set on our course.

Blueberry Pies from Centerville Pie Company are the prizes for both Overall and Category winners.

New categories to win this year are an "age-graded top ten" and "fastest team or family"

ALSO NEW THIS YEAR IS OUR PIE EATING CONTEST HELD AT THE FINISH LINE STARTING AT 10:30.

IT WILL BE LIMITED TO 10 COMPETITORS IN EACH OF THE THREE DIVISIONS.

JUNIORS: AGES 12 AND UNDER WILL BE EATING 1/2 OF A SMALL BLUEBERRY PIE.

MASTERS: AGES 13 AND ABOVE, MEN'S AND WOMEN'S DIVISIONS WILL HAVE TO EAT A COMPLETE SMALL BLUEBERRY PIE.

THE PIES ARE 6 INCHES.

WINNERS GET A TROPHY AND T-SHIRT.

EVERY PIE-EATING CONTESTANT WILL GET A BASEBALL HAT JUST FOR HAVING THE COURAGE TO SIT DOWN AT THE COMPETITION TABLE.

The Challenger Club promotes year-round healthy, active lifestyles to an underserved population and provides opportunities for inclusiveness, social interaction and personal growth. This is the 21st year the Challenger Club has been providing free athletic, recreational, and social activities to Cape Cod's special needs community. The Challenge Club does not receive any state or federal funding and operates solely through grants, fundraising, and our entrepreneurial businesses, Cape Cod Challenger Green Fertilizer and Challenger Vending. All proceeds from this event will be used to further support the mission and 100% of the funds will remain in the local community.

PARTICIPANTS AGES 7 AND UNDER AND 80 AND OVER RUN FOR FREE! DISCOUNT WILL BE APPLIED WHEN YOU CHECK OUT



THE NIGHT BEFORE THE RACE, FRIDAY, JUNE 27TH FROM 5-8PM WE WILL HAVE AN EARLY RACE BIB AND T-SHIRT PICK-UP PARTY AT THE STARTING LINE.

OUR PLAYGROUND WILL BE OPEN, AND A DJ WILL BE PLAYING MUSIC.

PLEASE PICK UP YOUR RACE BIBS AND T-SHIRTS FRIDAY, IF POSSIBLE. IT HELPS MAKE RACE DAY EASIER FOR EVERYONE AND IS APPRECIATED.
