The RUN SLC Race Series is about having fun while stretching your legs after the winter, hitting some fitness goals, and forming good training habits for the rest of the year as you complete a 5k in February, 10k in March, and 15k in April.
While the series takes place as an in-person event, participating virtually is an option for anyone, for any reason, but awards are given to those that participate in person on race day. For more information on participating virtually, email race@slrc.com.

The RUN SLC Race Series 5K was my second 5K of the year, but it felt like a milestone for a different reason—it was my very first race that I completed completely on my own.
Running solo was definitely a different kind of challenge. I didn’t have friends or family waiting at the finish line or cheering me on along the course, so I had to rely on myself for motivation. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone, and I’m really proud that I showed up and finished.
The event was well organized, the course was great, and the volunteers and fellow runners made the atmosphere welcoming, even if I came by myself. By the end of the race, I realized that running solo doesn’t mean running alone—there’s a wonderful sense of community at these events.
I’m so glad I signed up, and this race gave me even more confidence to keep working toward my goal of completing a 5K every month this year.
