This annual race is dedicated to raising funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, a crucial organization in the fight against ovarian cancer, which affects one in 70 women. The event honors the inspiring story of Lori Newcomb, a beloved member of the Newks family who bravely battled ovarian cancer.
Kick off the day with race registration from 7:30 AM to 8:45 AM, leading up to the exhilarating race start at 9:00 AM. Participants will have the chance to earn medals in various categories, including overall male and female winners, as well as the top finishers in age groups 12-29, 30-49, and 50+. Come together with your community to support ovarian cancer research and help make a difference in the lives of women and their families. With a goal of raising $5,000, every step taken brings us closer to finding a cure. Let’s run for a cause and create a brighter future together!

NEWK'S CARES STORY:
Our annual 5K will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (501c3). Ovarian cancer hits close to home for the Newks family. Lori Newcomb Co-founder of Newks Cares and wife of Newks Eatery Co-founder and CEO, Chris Newcomb was diagnosed with stage IIIC ovarian cancer in February 2013. Her story is all too familiar for many women, as one in 70 will develop this disease. It is the fifth leading cause of death in women. We at Newks Eatery look forward to your help in participating in a fun, positive event that benefits OCRA, the largest global organization dedicated to advancing ovarian cancer research while supporting women and their families.
20,000 women are diagnosed with OC this year and less than half will survive the next 5 years.

Runners will be required to sign a waiver at time of registration, under 18 must have parent signature.

Runners/Walkers must finish race in 60 minutes. Registration unavailable on the day of race. All registrations are due by 9.23.20 online; late registration can be done the day of the event from 7:45-8:45 am
