Join us for the inspiring "Run TEAL There's a Cure" event on Saturday, September 14, 2024, in Texarkana, Bowie, where we come together to support a vital cause—ovarian cancer research. This annual 5K race is not just a run; it’s a heartfelt tribute to those affected by ovarian cancer, including Lori Newcomb, whose story has touched many lives. With the goal of raising $5,000 for the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, participants will run to make a difference for the 20,000 women diagnosed this year.
The race kicks off at 9:00 AM, with registration available from 7:45 to 8:45 AM. Runners of all ages are welcome to join in the fun and positivity, with medals awarded to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories. Come out and be part of this uplifting event at Spring Lake Park, and help us find a cure for ovarian cancer together!

NEWK'S CARES STORY:
Our annual 5K will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (501c3). Ovarian cancer hits close to home for the Newks family. Lori Newcomb Co-founder of Newks Cares and wife of Newks Eatery Co-founder and CEO, Chris Newcomb was diagnosed with stage IIIC ovarian cancer in February 2013. Her story is all too familiar for many women, as one in 70 will develop this disease. It is the fifth leading cause of death in women. We at Newks Eatery look forward to your help in participating in a fun, positive event that benefits OCRA, the largest global organization dedicated to advancing ovarian cancer research while supporting women and their families.
20,000 women are diagnosed with OC this year and less than half will survive the next 5 years.

Award Ceremony immediately following last runner
Medals awarded to Overall Male/Female. Top 3 finishers in 12-29, 30-49, 50+ age categories
How: Timing and race route provided by Mike Riley.
Runners will be required to sign a waiver at time of registration, under 18 must have parent signature.
