Get ready for an exciting day of community spirit and healthy competition at the Run the Rails 5K, taking place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, in Skiatook, Osage! This thrilling race coincides with Skiatook's beloved Pioneer Day Festival, making it the perfect opportunity to enjoy a vibrant day of festivities while supporting a great cause.
Hosted by the Skiatook Volleyball Team, all proceeds from the event will go towards their upcoming fall season, so you can run with purpose! The race will kick off from the First Baptist Church at 940 W Oak St, following a scenic course primarily along the Osage Prairie Trail, a converted rail line that stretches 14 miles.
Participants can register for just $30 until August 31st, or $35 up until race day, while students can join for only $15. Don’t miss out on the chance to secure a guaranteed T-shirt by registering before September 5th! All finishers will receive custom wood medals, and certificates will be awarded to the top three participants in each 10-year age group up to 80 and over. - A NEW START/FINISH FOR THE RUN WILL BE AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN SKIATOOK AT 940 W OAK ST. THE COURSE WILL LOOK PRETTY SIMILIAR AS YEARS PAST (MOSTLY FOLLOWING THE OSAGE PRARIE TRAIL, A FORMER RAIL LINE THAT WAS CONVERTED INTO A TRAIL IN 2006 AND EXTENDS FROM 14 MILES FROM OSU TULSA TO SKIATOOK.)
