The day will kick off at 8:40 AM, and participants in the Kids 1 Mile Fun Run can register on-site for just $5 per child (cash only). Parents are encouraged to join in the fun alongside their young runners! Every finisher will receive a ribbon at the finish line, celebrating their achievement. With limited entries available and prices increasing as race day approaches, be sure to secure your spot early! Not only will you enjoy a fantastic day of running, but you'll also be supporting the Pisgah High School Cross Country team. THE 1ST ANNUAL RUN THE RIVER 5K CAN BE CHARACTERIZED AS A FAIRLY EASY TRAIL RUN. ITS MOSTLY ON GRASS, WITH SOME GRAVEL, AND A VERY SHORT PAVED SECTION. ITS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE SOME EASY OFF ROAD RUNNING A TRY WITHOUT LOTS OF DIFFICULT TERRAIN. THE SURROUNDING HILL AND COUNTRYSIDE WILL BE THE BACKDROP, MAKING A PICTURESQUE AUTUMN RUN ON MOSTLY LEVEL TURF FOR THIS AREA. THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL ABILITIES AND PROCEEDS BENEFIT PISGAH HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY. DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR YOURSELF AND FOR HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES!
