Get ready for an exciting community event at the 1st Annual Runnin' To The Rig 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, in Bakersfield, Kern! Join us for a morning filled with fun and camaraderie as participants kick off the day at 8:30 AM with a shotgun start. Check-in begins at 7:30 AM, so arrive early to soak up the atmosphere.
This nostalgic 5K course winds through the historic campus, culminating near the iconic football tunnel in Griffith Stadium. If you prefer a shorter distance, the 2K walk offers a delightful route around the campus and through some buildings, starting right after the run. All finishers will receive medals, and those who pre-register by January 12th will be guaranteed a T-shirt. Stick around after the race for snacks, water, and a chance to explore our archives. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to support Bakersfield High School and have a blast with fellow community members. Go Blue! Once a Driller, Always a Driller!

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST - SHOT GUN START AT 8:30AM AND CHECK-IN AT 7:30AM
We invite you to participate with us in this FUNdraising endeavor to build community and raise funds. Our 5k course is designed as a nostalgic run/walk throughout our historic campus ending near the famous football tunnel in Griffith Stadium. Our 2K walk will meander around campus and even through some of the buildings. The Walk will start after the Run. Medals given to all finishers!
T-SHIRTS INCLUDED WITH ALL RACE PRE-REGISTRATION ENTRIES PURCHASED BY JANUARY 12TH. We purchased some extra shirts but can not guarantee sizes if you registered after January 12.

A stroll down memory lane through many of the iconic spots on the BHS campus. This fabulous walking tour will feature stops and photo opps in many of the schools beautiful old buildings, and the Harvey Auditorium stage (graced by so many legends since its completion in 1948 - even MLK Jr. in 1960!). Come trace the footsteps of Earl Warren, Frank Gifford, and so many other illustrious Driller alumni!
