For those who prefer to join from the comfort of their own surroundings, the Santa Fe Snowshoe Classic also offers a virtual option. Registered participants can complete the 6-kilometer (3.5 mile) distance anywhere, anytime between now and January 31, 2025. Whether you're in snow-covered terrain or a sunny locale, you can still be part of this fantastic event! With registration fees starting at $35 for in-person participants and $40 for the virtual option, each registrant will receive a hip pack and be eligible for age-group awards and raffle prizes. THE 2025 SANTA FE SNOWSHOE CLASSIC IS IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL.
The annual Santa Fe Snowshoe Classic is back! Register at runsignup.com to receive great swag, win cool prizes, and have a great reason to get outside this winter! The in-person registration fee is $35 (increasing to $40 on January 1), and the virtual registration fee is $40. Proceeds will benefit Santa Fe Search and Rescue [https://www.santafesar.org/]. In addition to volunteering at past Snowshoe Classics, Santa Fe Search and Rescue provides trained teams to participate in wilderness searches for people who are missing, injured, or lost.
IN PERSON:
Gather at the BIG TESUQUE CAMPGROUND [https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/santafe/recarea/?recid=75602] off of Hyde Park Road on JANUARY 25, 2025. The race will start at 9 A.M. Please carpool and arrive early; parking is limited. The course is a 6-kilometer lollipop shape consisting of the Big Tesuque Trail (Tr. 152), the Winsor Trail (Tr. 254), and Pacheco Canyon Road (US Forest Rd.102). Assuming snow conditions are good, participants must wear snowshoes. All participants will receive a hip pack, age-group awards, and raffle prizes.
DUE TO THE HIGH NUMBER OF REGISTRANTS, THERE WILL NOT BE RACE DAY REGISTRATION.
VIRTUAL:
Registered participants can complete their own 6-kilometer (3.5 mile) run or hike anywhere, any time between now and January 31, 2025. Competing in snowshoes on snow is ideal, but one perk of a virtual race is that you can participate anywhere! If you live somewhere without snow, you may still sign up. All registrants will receive a hip pack. (Please make sure to register with your correct mailing address so we can mail you the pack; the cost of the race includes shipping.)
