Join us for the invigorating Sean Cooley Memorial 5k on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, in the beautiful Ocean Springs, Jackson. This event not only promises an exciting day of running but also serves as a heartfelt tribute to MSG Sean Cooley, a fallen soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice. The festivities kick off at 9:00 AM with a 1-mile race, followed by the 5k at 9:30 AM. Runners of all levels are welcome to participate, with a chance to win cash prizes for the top male and female finishers in the 1-mile race: $75 for first place, $50 for second, and $25 for third!
The 5k race features a registration fee of $20 for GCRC members and $22 for non-members, with a $25 late registration option available on race day. Both courses are USATF certified, making them eligible for state records, and awards will be given across all standard divisions in the 5k. Plus, participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt while supplies last. By joining us, you'll not only enjoy a fantastic day of fitness and camaraderie but also support the Sean M. "Race walking requires the competitor to maintain contact with the ground at all times and requires the leading leg to be straightened as the foot makes contact with the ground. It must remain straightened until the leg passes under the body." -
