Both races wind through the picturesque countryside, offering not only a physical challenge but also an opportunity to soak in the warmth and creativity of the Shell Lake community. Imagine a triathlon that begins _JUST STEPS FROM A SPARKLING 2,600-ACRE LAKE_, surrounded by the charm of a small town where life moves at a more peaceful pace. The Shell Lake Lions Triathlon/Duathlon, held annually on the _FOURTH SATURDAY IN JULY,_ brings athletes and spectators together for a memorable race through one of Wisconsins most scenic communities. With a course that winds along the beautiful countryside, a public beach, lakeside park, and campground, participants enjoy more than just a physical challengethey experience the warmth and creativity of Shell Lake itself.
The Shell Lake Lions Club hosts _TWO EVENTS AT 8 AM_ on Saturday, July 25th, 2026 at the Shell Lake beach. Timing services are provided by Duluth Timing and Events. There are 2 events, the TRIATHLON (a traditional swim/bike/run) and the DUATHLON (a run/bike/run event). Both events will run concurrently. Individual or teams may enter either event.
The triathlon course is a 1/3 mile swim, a 15 mile bike and 3.4 mile run.
The duathlon is a 2 mile run instead of the swim, a 15 mile bike and 3.4 mile run.
Medals will be given to all participants.
