Get ready for an unforgettable evening of fun and fitness at the SHS XC Glow The Distance Fun Run on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in New Castle, Lawrence! This vibrant event, designed by enthusiastic junior athletes from the Shenango Cross Country team, promises to be a highlight of the summer. Participants will enjoy a picturesque course that showcases the beauty of Shenango Township, all while being illuminated by ambient lighting that will inspire everyone to GLOW the distance.
The run features a variety of race distances, comparable to a 5K, and includes a special Kids Run for children ages 10 and under, where every young runner will receive a medal for their efforts! Runners aged 11 and up can compete in one of seven age categories, with medals awarded to the top three finishers in each group. Beyond just running, attendees can look forward to a Zumba warm-up, a DJ, kids' face painting, and plenty of community bonding opportunities. Registration is just $35, and those who sign up before May 22 will receive a free T-shirt! Join us for a fantastic evening that celebrates health, community, and the joy of running!

Join us for the SHS XC Glow the Distance Fun Run on June 13, 2026! This is an evening run
designed by two of the junior class athletes of Shenangos Cross Country team. This run is to
promote a healthy lifestyle, community bonding, and the love of our township. The run is
comparable to a 5K, but will be a fun path of our township, highlighting our high school and our
township park. Glow the Distance will first include a Kids Run, which will be open to children
ages 10 and under. Every participant in this race will win a medal upon completion of the run!
Along with the children, there will be 7 additional age categories (11-15, 16-19, 20-30, 31-40,
41-50, 51-60, 61+) that will run as one group, but will be broken into these groupings for the top
3 runners of each age category to earn medals. This will encourage friendly competition and
bonding within the community, and it will give people the opportunity to get moving outside
during the summer! *Participant receives all risk for the course* The course itself will include
ambient lighting throughout to show the runners the unseen beauty of Shenango Township and
motivate them to truly GLOW the distance!
