Join us for Skylar's Run - Clean Water 5K on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in the beautiful Auburn, Gwinnett. This uplifting event aims to raise awareness about the critical need for safe, clean water in East Africa, where women and children often walk 5 kilometers daily to retrieve unsafe water. The 5K run/walk, along with the wheelchair and stroller accessible "Walk & Roll" event, invites participants of all ages and abilities to join the cause.
Starting at 8:00 am, with sign-in beginning at 7:15 am, this family-friendly event will feature music, a free raffle for participants, a photo booth, handcrafted Kenyan items for purchase, and engaging children’s water education activities. As a certified Peachtree qualifier, the 5K race will award medals for the top finishers in each age/gender category, while every participant in the "Walk & Roll" and "Water Carry" events will receive a special medal during the awards ceremony. Together, we can make a significant impact by providing sustainable water filters for vulnerable families in Kenya. Everyday in East Africa, women and children walk an average of 5 kilometers to retrieve water for their families that is often unclean and unsafe for human use. SKYLAR'S RUN - CLEAN WATER 5K EVENT is focused on bringing awareness that SAFE, CLEAN WATER IS A SOLVABLE PROBLEM. Race headliner, Skylar Gwin, and his father, Paul, will be leading the wheelchair & stroller accessible "Walk & Roll" event as a testimony to the fact that EVERYONE CAN BE PART OF THE CLEAN WATER SOLUTION, no matter their age or abilities.
All funds raised through this event are used to PROVIDE SUSTAINABLE WATER FILTERS FOR VULNERABLE FAMILIES IN KENYA. This designation most often applies to those with limited means who have young children, elderly, physically disabled, or chronically ill family members. These populations are most susceptible to water-born illnesses.
THIS EVENT IS A 5K RUN/WALK, WATER CARRY, OR WALK & ROLL EVENT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!! WE WILL HAVE MUSIC, A FREE RAFFLE FOR RACE PARTICIPANTS, A PHOTOBOOTH, HANDCRAFTED KENYA ITEMS FOR PURCHASE, CHILDREN'S WATER EDUCATION ACTIVITIES, AND MUCH MORE FUN!!!

* Registration includes t-shirt for participant, raffle ticket and post race drinks & snacks
* 5K Race is a Certified Peachtree Qualifier
* "Walk & Roll" and "Water Carry" events are held on an accessible, paved, 1/2 mile loop.
* Registration for the "Walk & Roll" includes a free 'buddy' for the primary participant, no extra registration fee is needed.
_AWARDS: 5K RACE MEDALS FOR TOP 3 TIMED FINISHERS IN EACH AGE/GENDER CATEGORY (5K). 5K RACE TROPHIES WILL BE AWARDED FOR OVERALL TOP 3 FINISHERS - MEN AND TOP 3 FINISHERS - WOMEN. Participation in this division, led by race leader, Skylar Gwin, and his father, Paul, is a statement that we can ALL do something to help find a solution to the clean water crisis! This route is paved and wheelchair/stroller accessible. It is open to participants of all abilities and will not be timed. The registration fee is for one Primary Race Participant AND one Race Buddy, if the Participant needs help on the race route. Race Registration includes one T-shirt for the Primary Race Participant-- an additional shirt for a Race Buddy may be purchased separately during the registration process.. -

This "water carry" event involves carrying a water filled bucket on a 1/2 mile course to simulate and bring awareness to the long, daily walk for water that is a reality for so many women and children in East Africa. Water and bucket will be provided at the event. This event is not timed, and participation medals will be given at completion. -
