Get ready for an exciting day filled with community spirit and healthy competition at the 16th annual South Effingham NJROTC Cadet 5K! Join us on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at South Effingham High School in Guyton, Effingham, for a fantastic race that kicks off at 9:00 AM, with registration starting at 7:30 AM. This 5K race is perfect for runners of all levels, whether you're aiming to achieve a personal best or participating in your very first 5K.
The scenic course will take you through the local area, beginning at the football stadium and winding down Nease Road, St. John, and Hester Roads before returning to the school. Not only will you enjoy a great day of running, but you'll also be supporting the 110 Cadets of the South Effingham NJROTC, helping them learn self-discipline and prepare to be outstanding citizens. Proceeds from the event will fund participation in various NJROTC competitions, including overnight trips, military base visits, college campus visits, summer camps, and a military ball for the upcoming school year. Organiser's Description
Please join us for the 16th annual running of the South Effingham NJROTC Cadet 5K. The race will take place at South Effingham High School starting at the football stadium. The race will begin at 9:00am. Registration will open at 7:30. The run will travel out the school entrance, down Nease Road, down St John and Hester roads back to the school. It is an ideal race for anyone trying to set a personal best or participating in their first 5K. The race benefits the 110 Cadets of the South Effingham NJROTC learning self discipline while preparing to be outstanding citizens. Proceeds will will fund participation in 24 various NJROTC competitions to include 14 overnights trips, 4 military base visits, 2 college campus visits, 2 summer camps and one military ball for the 2025 2026 school year.
