Dress in your favorite cold-weather gear or a festive Thanksgiving costume to add to the fun! The race kicks off at 9:30 AM, following a spirited opening ceremony. Be among the first 350 participants to register online and receive a unique Steamboat Springs logo campfire mug. Plus, stay after the race for a chance to win exciting raffle prizes. Don’t forget to bring non-perishable food items for the Lift Up Food Bank and consider supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. 2025 RACE DETAILS:

Hello Turkey Trotters. Welcome to our 2025 Thanksgiving Day event, a race that has become one of our community's greatest Thanksgiving traditions. This race/fun run/walk has proven to be such a special day for friends, families and visitors and benefits the Steamboat Springs High School Track & Field and Cross Country programs. The Turkey Trot is a 5K course that starts and ends at Steamboat Springs High School, traveling to beautiful Strawberry Park and back. Dress in your cold weather running gear or even a Thanksgiving Day costume.

WHO: Runners, walkers, competitive adaptive, strollers, burly trailers, and leashed dogs on race course. This is an out and back course so distances may be shortened for any children and/or athletes with special considerations.Just let the race directors know so we can modify results. Wheelchair access is available to all facilities involved in the race. Note: NO DOGS ALLOWED IN THE HIGH SCHOOL. PLEASE LEAVE OUTSIDE WHEN YOU PICK UP BIBS.

THE FIRST 350 YOUTH (AGE 11-17) AND ADULTS(18+) COMBINED, WHO PAY & REGISTER ONLINE WILL RECEIVE A REALLY COOL STEAMBOAT SPRINGS LOGO CAMPFIRE MUG. REGISTER EARLY TO RECEIVE. PACKET PICK-UP - WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH AT THE STEAMBOAT SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL 4-6PM AND RACE DAY FROM 8:00-9:00AM. LINES WILL BE BUSY ON THURSDAY MORNING, SO PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME BEFORE THE RACE.

DAY OF REGISTRATION - You will be able to register the morning of the race from 8:00-9:00 am. Note the adjusted pricing for Race Day Registration for Youth and Adults. Racers will use their phones to access our race website for registration.

RACE START: 9:30am with Opening Ceremony a few minutes prior.

IMPORTANT REMINDER ON COURSE - We are so thankful to have the support of the City of Steamboat Springs and Routt County to put on this fantastic event. For safety and to honor our permit guidelines, it is very important that ALL RACERS follow pedestrian guidelines when on course for safety. The course is OPEN to all traffic, so please stay on the left side of the road, on the shoulder going towards the turn around and then cross over to the left side on the return. We will have police support at the intersection of Maple and Amethyst, a lead biker and rolling car support. Nonetheless, THE ROADS ARE OPEN to moving traffic. Thank you!!!

DONATIONS:

LIFT UP FOOD BANK - Non-perishable food donations will be accepted on site for Lift Up Food Bank! A bin will be located near the finish line.

UKRAINE RELIEF EFFORTS: Our race director and her husband, Lisa Renee and Doug have traveled to Ukraine 6 times since the full scale invasion occurred and will be returning December 5th. We would like to accept donations to help with humanitarian relief and medical supplies immediately (and will hand deliver), to help the Ukrainian people endure brutal winter conditions, with limited power and water supplies.

If you are interested in bringing a donation, every dollar will be allocated to the cause. You may either bring cash, write a check to Steamboat Track and Field or make a donation on the race site. Thank you!!

PRIZES - 1st-3rd place for adult male and female; 1st-3rd for youth male and female (11-17); 1st-3rd place for overall masters 60+; 1st-3rd overall kids 6-10 years; race ribbons for all youth age 10 and under; plus best overall costume awards.

RAFFLE DRAWING for everyone else that sticks around for awards. We have some fantastic raffle items and swag to share so make sure to pick up a raffle ticket after you race with our volunteers.

PARKING - available in the main parking lot of the Steamboat Springs High School (west of the main entrance to the high school). You will enter the high school through the front, main entrance.

Restroom facilities - located in the high school through the commons or at the north pointing athletic entrance.
